The Software Institute is pleased to annouce SIESTA 2025, the fifth International Software Engineering Summer School, which will take place in Lugano, Switzerland, on August 27-29, 2025.

The goal of SIESTA is to bring together academic and industrial researchers along with Ph.D. students to give participants an opportunity to get first-hand knowledge about recent research trends in Software Engineering. At SIESTA tutorials by leading researchers, student talks, and amazing social events come together to offer our participants the best possible experience.

Venue

SIESTA 2025 will be held in the beautiful city of Lugano at USI East Campus. The USI East Campus, located at Via la Santa 1 in the Viganello neighborhood, hosts lecture rooms and offices for the Faculty of Informatics, Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, SUPSI’s Department of Innovative Technologies, and IDSIA. It features shared spaces, a multi-purpose hall, an exhibition area, a canteen, and sports facilities. The campus accommodates 600 staff members, 1,800 undergraduate and continuing education students.

Registration

The tentative program features tutorials by five leading researchers and several social activities including a welcome reception, a social dinner, and an excursion. In addition to the items mentioned before, the registration fee also includes lunches and coffee breaks.

Accommodation costs are not included in the fee. We are finalizing special hotel rates for participants. Please come back soon for more information.

We offer a discounted registration rate for PhD students (CHF 350) and a regular rate (CHF 450) for non-students participants (e.g., postdocs, practitioners). Since the number of participants is limited, registration will close once the target number is reached.
